PowerSchool is a web-based student information system that provides real-time information to parents and students over the internet. Parents can gain immediate access to their student's grades and students can track their own progress.

PowerSchool is platform independent so it can be accessed from Mac or Window computers with a web browser.

Parents can access real-time student performance data, communicate with teachers, and track assignments and attendance.

Students have access to assignments and their own progress in each class making them more accountable for their own academic success.

St. Viator's PowerSchool system will begin it's sixth year with the opening of school August 19th. PowerSchool will go back on-line, for parents of students in grades 4 through 8, the beginning of September. Check your Viator Voice for details.

The privacy and security of your students' grades are maintained through the use of individual family usernames and passwords.

A letter will be sent home  that will have a username and password to access your child(ren)'s grades and attendance. Please keep this letter in a safe place.

If you are interested in learning more about PowerSchool, go to the PowerSchool site . There you will be able to discover more information about the program, read testimonials from other schools, and see a demo of the system.

Although teachers will be updating their gradebooks on a regular basis, the most complete grades will be available on Tuesday mornings. Teachers will make every attempt to have all previous week's work graded and entered by Tuesday.

Possible Problems:
  • If you have a problem accessing the server with AOL, switch to either Safari, Internet Explorer, FireFox or Netscape.
  • Internet security settings cannot be at the highest level.
  • Your computer must be set to allow Cookies.
  • stviatorschool@cox.net should be in your address book.

Although this seems very obvious, it is very important for you to keep your username and password a secret in order to maintain security for your student's grades.
